Meet Our Mentors

Marion Kerepeti-Edwards

Marion is an experienced Company Director and Senior Manager in the fields of Education and International Business. Notable accomplishments throughout her career include the establishment of a China-based registered education market and research business in Shanghai in 2006 and the setting up of an RTO, CROCIS Training Centre in Australia in 2008.

Marion was invited to attend the IEE Sustainable Business Education Forum in Denmark in 2011 and the WIPCE Indigenous World Education Leaders Forum in Hawaii in 2014. In 2012, she represented Maori Education during the NZ Maori Business Delegation visit to China.

Marion holds a Master of Business Administration in International Business and has completed Company Director courses with the NZ Institute of Directors. She is currently the Elected Vice President of Multi Cultural New Zealand and the Elected Chairperson of Multicultural Whangarei.

Marion also serves in senior education advisory roles with Hapu and Iwi in Whangarei, as well as on the Kaipara Board COGS Funding. Additionally, she has been a long-serving Trustee on Hapu and Marae Trusts.


Adam Worley is a talented digital marketing expert and founder of of 1768degrees.com, a boutique marketing agency, helping small to medium-sized businesses achieve success.

Adam's goal is to help entrepreneurs grow faster and reach their full potential. He understands the challenges that businesses face and is dedicated to providing quality information and guidance to support their growth, from business planning to marketing execution.

Steve Watene

Steve Watene is an accomplished Chartered Accountant with a strong passion for community development and enhancing the lives of those around him. His extensive experience includes working with both for-profit and not-for-profit entities, providing financial management and helping them achieve their business objectives.


Steve's expertise also extends to Iwi and Hapu development, where he has gained a deep understanding of the challenges of these communities and has been involved in various initiatives aimed at addressing them. His work in this area has given him a unique perspective on community building, emphasising teamwork and collaboration towards a shared goal.


Additionally, Steve has over 20 years of experience as a Trustee, serving on various school boards to help ensure efficient management and provide quality education to students. This work has taught him the significance of effective governance and the role of financial management in achieving successful outcomes.


Steve has also served as a former Crown Appointee to the Northland District Health Board, where he oversaw one of New Zealand's largest public health providers. This experience highlighted the challenges faced by the health system and reinforced to him the importance of using available resources efficiently to provide quality care to patients.

Juanita is an experienced Executive Coach and NS Master Practitioner. She has recently shifted her focus towards business mentoring, specifically for start-up entrepreneurs using the Strategyzer system. Working with various MSD Business Plan Mentoring Providers, Juanita has developed an online mentoring programme that caters to Maori, Pacific People, and other minority ethnic groups. Her program covers several areas such as Business Plans, Business Continuity Plans, Marketing Plans, Digital Marketing Plans, and Action Plans.


Juanita's expertise in the Strategyzer business planning technology has enabled her to assist even those with limited business knowledge to understand the nine building blocks of a sustainable business. Her clients have provided positive feedback and have been surprised by how fast they could apply their learnings.


Aside from her coaching and mentoring work, Juanita is an entrepreneur with over 23 years of experience in Leadership and Operational Management roles. She is passionate about coaching emerging leaders; running a sales company for over 12 years has given her a great understanding of sales, marketing, and branding.


Juanita also collaborates with technology companies to explore better ways of educating people through engagement. As a Strategyzer Expert, Juanita has access to leading-edge technology, which she shares with her clients as a mentor.

Paul Siulepa is an advocate for Language Literacy and Numeracy and has extensive experience in providing workplace literacy instruction across various industries and workforces. He has had a successful career in literacy that started in New Zealand and extended throughout Australia. Paul's expertise lies in delivering workplace literacy and training solutions, including projects in primary produce, hospital logistics, corporate business, and transportation. He is committed to ensuring that people have the right skills to secure employment in emerging industries. Paul also has a background in immigration, where he has worked for the New Zealand Immigration Service and served as an Immigration Adviser for several years.


One of Paul's notable achievements is creating The Wayfinder Programme. This program provides a goal-setting framework that helps new settlers in New Zealand to learn about settling into their new environment. The program also assists learners in developing language, literacy, and numeracy skills necessary for success in their chosen vocations. The Wayfinder Programme is particularly useful for newcomers looking to become conversant and proficient in workplace English.
